Mogford Prize

Eligibility

The prize is open to writers of any nationality who are over 18 years of age at the closing date of the competition. Stories may have a maximum of 2,500 words not including the title and should not have been previously published anywhere (this includes self-publication, publication on websites, blogs and online forums as well as broadcast via TV, radio or podcast). All stories should be in English and the sole work on the entrant.

Requirements

All entries must be made via our online submissions form as a .doc or .docx file. A fee of £15 must be paid for each submitted story. 10 free entries are available for writers on low incomes on a first come, first serve basis limited to one entry per author. All free entries for this year’s competition have now been awarded.

 

Terms & Conditions

Format

All entries should be double spaced and have the total word count noted on the first page. Please do not include any identifying personal details with your story, including your name, telephone number and address. Instead, these should only be noted on the online entry form. Any stories that do include identifying details will be disqualified. Once you have submitted your story, we regret that we cannot accept any further revisions or new versions. Please take care that the document you submit is the final version of your story.
