MOGFORD PRIZE PARTY 2022

Oct 6, 2022

On Friday the 23rd of September, we held the long-awaited Mogford Prize Party, fortuned with blue skies and what was possibly our last relatively warm evening of the month – quite appropriately on the day of the Autumn Equinox, might we add…

It was a grand celebration commemorating grand achievements; ten years since the launch of our literary competition, 2022 Mogford Prize winner Caitlin Venniker and shortlisted winners; Lorna Fergusson, Drishya Maity and Emily Devane.

To mark this incredible 10-year milestone, we’ve also published a very special book, just in time for the occasion; ‘Food & Drink Short Stories’, comprising of all the winning stories to date, which we thoroughly enjoyed gifting to our esteemed guests at the event.

Out of 870 entries around the globe this year, having won first prize with her short story, ‘The Hunt’, Caitlin Venniker receives a specially engraved award from Jeremy Mogford in addition to a £10,000 prize. Congratulations Caitlin!

Congratulations are also in order to our three talented 2022 short listers; Emily Devane with her short story ‘The Last King of Connemaidh’, Drishya Maity from India, with ‘One Afternoon in South Bombay’, and previous Mogford Prize short lister Lorna Fergusson with ‘Truth or Consequences’, who were awarded a £250 prize and the most extravagant bouquet on the night.

Once again, congratulations to all!
