SIR PHILIP PULLMAN - 2017

Sir Philip Pullman CBE FRSL is local to Oxford and has always been a firm advocate for literacy in all its forms. Philip’s reputation is world-wide with the acclaimed and bestselling His Dark Materials trilogy. In addition, he has authored over other thirty books and plays. He has won many awards including the Carnegie Medal, the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize and the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award from the Swedish Arts Council. He is an honorary professor at Bangor University, a Fellow of Oxford Brookes University, patron of the Palestine Festival of Literature, and a patron of The Shakespeare Schools Festival.
